Spy agencies, prime minister’s adviser defend Wi-Fi data collection – Politics – CBC News

    I hope the corporate/mainstream media continues to investigate this issue (at least as much as the independent media) and puts the screws to those involved. There is no excuse for such broadly-sweeping and intrusive surveillance.
    There wouldn’t even be a need for spying on ‘foreign’ nationals or governments if we would adopt foreign affairs policies that don’t interfere with other sovereign nations. Unfortunately, imperialistic States have a difficult time adopting this perspective.
    And note that such overreach by the State is always framed by Orwellian language that ensures citizens it is for their own safety. Such rubbish.
    Inventor and journalist Ben Franklin stated “They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety”.
